AGC has been awarded a fabrication package from Chevron Australia for the Chevron-operated Gorgon LNG Facility.

The scope of work includes fabrication, painting and pre-assembly of 150 tonnes of structural steelwork, and fabrication and painting of over 800 metres of stainless and carbon steel pipework, which will be assembled onto structures. The local team will also complete over 350 metres of acoustic insulation work, 406 in-line pipe supports and over 800 metres of cable tray installation onto the structure.

AGC Chevron Project Director Andrew Horsfield said, “It is great to be able to offer Chevron our fabrication services for the iconic Gorgon Project. The work will be carried out at our Kwinana facility, and will take approximately 12,500 labour-hours to complete before being transported to the Gorgon facility on Barrow Island for installation.”

CEO Shane Kimpton said “We have delivered a number of scopes for the Gorgon Project since 2013 and currently provide Chevron with brownfield maintenance and support services for the operational phase of their Western Australia assets. AGC initially fabricated 3,000 shear keys and over 23,000 pipe spools for the project during construction, and we are very pleased to be able to offer our fabrication expertise to Chevron once again through this package of work.”
