AusGroup Limited is pleased to announce subsidiary AGC Industries Pty Ltd (AGC) has been awarded the structural, mechanical and piping installation package by MSP Engineering Pty Ltd (MSPE) for the Talison Lithium Chemical Grade Plant 2 (CGP2) expansion project at Greenbushes in Western Australia.
The AU$27 million contract includes installation of approximately 2,000 tonnes of structural steel and associated flooring and cladding, 70 tonnes of plate work and 450 pieces of mechanical equipment.
AusGroup CEO and Executive Director Shane Kimpton said, “As the lithium market experiences increasing demand globally, we are very pleased to be able to provide our expertise to MSPE on this Western Australian project. Together with MSPE, we are focused on offering local employment and are currently sourcing over 150 roles from Greenbushes and the Southwest area.

The CGP2 project will significantly expand production of lithium oxide concentrates from Greenbushes and is in response to the growing demand for them as a key feedstock for the manufacture of lithium ion batteries used for electric vehicles, battery storage and consumer electronics.
