The AusGroup 2022 Employee of the Year award recipient was announced recently, with the annual award presented to Enjoy Bhatt, a Kwinana-based Project Manager with AGC, one of the AusGroup’s operating entities.

It was an award that came as a surprise no one but Enjoy himself when it was presented.

“I was really not expecting to receive this award”, he said. “But this is such an amazing company to work with, and receiving this award is really humbling. I count myself lucky every day to work with such a fabulous team.”

A 5 year journey with AGC … so far

Enjoy started working with AGC in 2018 and since that time has demonstrated a genuine commitment to the AusGroup values – delivering exceptional client-focused solutions and earning the respect of both clients and colleagues during his 5 years with the business.

When he first joined AGC, Enjoy was involved with what was a multi-year project for a large, multinational energy client involving the fabrication of the modules for the RIAG Project.

“At that time I was reporting to a Project Manager and working on a project which included fabrication, piping and insulation works. It was the very early stages of project award for us, and so for me it was really good to be able to learn first-hand about the planning and estimation phases of large maintenance projects for critical assets. It was a really good learning experience, and a great time to start.”

The work was completed successfully and further projects were subsequently awarded from the client to AGC, including key maintenance and turnaround projects such as SMP, Access, and a range of other packages for onsite installation.

“The awarding of further contracts to us showed that the client has confidence in our work and with our approach to dealing with them”, Enjoy said. “In many ways we’ve become a team – our client and AGC – and I think this is a fairly unique way of working.”

Now, as a Project Manager with the business, Enjoy is the project and cost management lead for major oil and gas fabrication projects and has built a strong reputation and rapport with both clients and colleagues alike. He has played a key role in the growth of AGC’s oil and gas and renewable energy sector business.

“Enjoy’s success with AGC over the last 5 years has not been by chance”, Shane Kimpton, Chief Executive Officer of AusGroup said. “Our oil and gas sector expertise is well regarded in the industry and has been a growing area of our business, and Enjoy has played an important role in this. He quickly grasped the issues and complexities of our critical infrastructure maintenance work, and quickly displayed an exceptional ability to plan and manage these highly important projects to get the best outcome for clients.”

A passion for client and team success

A partnership approach to engagements with its clients is a key part of the AusGroup model. The business has built a reputation for taking a collaborative approach with clients at all stages of project delivery and this is an approach to business that sits comfortably with Enjoy.

“Enjoy consistently demonstrates all of our core values – he shows a genuine commitment to the success of his clients and his team,” Shane Kimpton said.

Enjoy himself takes a humble approach to his work and his successes. “We’re a team, and our success is due to the success of the team,” he said.

He is now focused on the future and is playing a key role in a number of upcoming significant projects in the gold, lithium and oil and gas sectors. “We have a strong pipeline of jobs that we’re right now planning and executing here at Kwinana, so it’s an exciting time here for us.”

When announcing the award, Shane Kimpton acknowledged the role that Enjoy has personally played in the new contract awards at the Kwinana workshop. “Enjoy is a really worthy recipient of our employee of the year award. I would like to congratulate Enjoy on this award, and wish him all the best for his future with us.”
