Stacker Boom Fabrication and Insallation at a Dampier Salt Mine

Last week AusGroup transported two Stacker Booms to a client’s salt mine in Dampier.

Our AGC business was commissioned to fabricate, machine, surface treat, assemble and install the two CV401 & CV402 stacker boom replacements. Each were fully dressed with idlers, guards, grating and handrail all assembled to the stringent requirements of the salt provider.

Salt processing has the complexity of constant corrosion, so special emphases was placed on specialist surface treatment on the booms and the isolation of stainless steel from carbons.

The two CV401 and CV402 Stacker Booms left AusGroup Kwinana Operations on Tuesday and arrived on site Thursday ready for the team to install on site.
